The Vaniki Mahavidyalaya campus is a project where the architecture and spatial character of the built form play a key role in developing the socio-cultural ethos of the student community. It is also a case where optimizing resource through material and morphology allows for reduced built form without reducing functionality. Keeping in mind the nature of the course of study of the institute, all buildings apart from their necessary required functional spaces have their equally important informal semi open spaces. The main academic block, the hostels and the staff quarters all have courtyard-based planning, where built spaces are arranged around an open space.
