The Government Women's Engineering College at Gola, Ramgarh, Jharkhand is a full-fledged residential college campus for 1200 students for five engineering branches over a 21 acre plot. The campus is inclusive of all academic functions, hostels and staff housing, as per relevant AICTE norms.
The main building is the crowning highlight of the campus. As a response to the site being at a remote location, an inward looking plan was developed. The administrative block and the five academic blocks are arranged in a concentric form looking into a common courtyard, which is main public space of the campus. Since the plot was contoured, the blocks were placed at varying levels, and this further aided in creating a very interesting landscape in the courtyard, with an open air theatre and informal interaction spaces, which would act as the hub for student activities. The elevations and fenestration design of the buildings has been done in a manner to give a contemporary aesthetic to the campus.
Inaugurated by the Prime Minister last year, this project is a highlight of our portfolio. We await with all eagerness to see the campus come to life with young students and bright minds post the pandemic.
